The Palestine Solidarity Camps in 11 Australian universities issued a joint statement clarifying their demands from the student movement in universities.
The statement said that the students demand that their universities disclose all their relations with the Israeli occupation, abandon those relations, and sign the international statement of boycott, divestment, and imposition of sanctions.
They added that they are very disturbed by the partnerships that many universities have with arms companies.
The statement was issued by the Palestine Solidarity Camps at the University of Sydney, the University of Adelaide, the University of Queensland, Curtin University, Monash University, RMIT University, Deakin University, the University of Tasmania, La Trobe University, the Australian National University, and the University of Wollongong.
The students explained that they stand in solidarity with the people of Gaza against the bombing, invasion and occupation by Israeli forces, and that they are horrified by the brutality to which the Palestinians are subjected, adding: “We cannot sit idly by while it unfolds. Doing so would be a moral farce.”
