The Armed Forces announce the downing of an American MQ9 spy plane, the fifth since the start of support for Gaza

Today, Tuesday, the Armed Forces announced that an American MQ9 fighter spy plane was shot down while it was conducting hostilities over Al-Bayda governorate, with a locally made missile.

This is the fifth plane of the same model to be shot down since the start of the battle to support Gaza.

The armed forces said in a statement: In victory for the oppression of the Palestinian people and in response to the American-British aggression against our country, the air defense forces of the Yemeni armed forces, with the help of God Almighty, succeeded in shooting down an American MQ-9 aircraft while it was carrying out hostile missions in the airspace of Al-Bayda governorate.

The Armed Forces explained that the plane was targeted with a locally made surface-to-air missile, noting that scenes of the downing will be distributed later, God willing.

The armed forces indicated that the operation to shoot down the plane came only days after another plane of the same type was shot down over Marib governorate. It confirmed that it will continue to develop its defense capabilities to confront the American-British aggression against our country and will continue to carry out its military operations in victory for the oppressed Palestinian people until the siege is lifted and the aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip is stopped.

With this operation, the Yemeni armed forces succeeded in shooting down five aircraft of this type during the Battle of the Promised Conquest and Holy Jihad.

It is noteworthy that the Yemeni armed forces were able to shoot down 9 advanced American MQ-9 aircraft, five of them since the start of the promised conquest and holy jihad operation in support of Gaza, and the other four during the years of the Saudi-American aggression against Yemen.

One month after the start of the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle, and in an operation that was the first of its kind outside the Yemeni mainland, on November 8, 2023, the Yemeni Air Force shot down the American spy plane “MQ9” while it was carrying out hostile, monitoring and espionage actions “over Yemeni territorial waters” within the framework of Washington’s protection of the Zionist enemy entity, and within the military support provided to the entity.
