President Al-Mashat: The aggressive behavior of US and Britain threatens international peace and security and exposes their interests to danger

The anniversary of unity is a time to revive the meanings of brotherhood and reject the causes of division

His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, the Chairman of the Supreme Political Council, stressed

the importance of looking at the glorious anniversary of Yemeni unity as an annual milestone to revive the meanings of brotherhood and love and spread the spirit of tolerance and coexistence, cooperation and integration, and transcending wounds, and rejecting all causes and factors of division and hatred.

President Al-Mashat pointed out in his speech this evening on the occasion of the 34th National Day of the Republic of Yemen, “May 22,” that “these values are an integral part of the meanings, extensions, and requirements of our unitary faith identity, and our political differences, no matter how great, should never be allowed to push us to leave our unifying identity, nor should we allow destructive ideas and narrow projects to put us and our country at risk.”

He pointed out the importance of everyone making each anniversary an opportunity to renew adherence to the unity of Yemeni territory as an extension of the unity of the Yemeni people belonging to the faith.

He stated that there are unjust practices and grave mistakes that have occurred against the Yemeni people in the south and north alike, but it is wrong to hold unity accountable for the mistakes of the former regime or to hold certain practices from here or there on them, and it is also illogical to think about addressing the problems by neglecting the country’s unity.

President Al-Mashat stressed the importance of the world realizing that the interests of Yemen and the interests of the region and the world lie in one and unified Yemen, while the door to fairness, solutions and just treatments remains open, which will be sufficient to resolve all problems and controversial issues.

On this unified occasion, he reaffirmed the sincere desire to make peace, good neighborliness, and restore brotherhood with the surroundings of Yemen and with the parties inside.

He called on everyone in the leadership of the coalition, represented by its first leadership, to complete what has been started, to engage seriously in signing and implementing the road map, and to immediately begin preparing and enhancing the atmosphere supportive of building confidence in the humanitarian and economic aspects, moving forward on the path of peace, eliminating crises and conflicts completely, and working together to make the region as a whole safe, stable and prosperous.

He advised caution against US, Israel, and Britain and their subversive and destructive efforts against the peoples and countries of the nation.

President Al-Mashat called on the international community and the United Nations to remove the decisions and headlines that obstruct peace in Yemen and to play a positive role in promoting and encouraging Sana’a’s good intentions and directions.

He also called on US and Britain to immediately stop the hateful, criminal aggression against oppressed Gaza and to stop their aggression against Yemen, and to realize that continuing aggressive behavior represents a serious threat to international peace and security and exposes their interests to increase danger.

President Al-Mashat directed the government to postpone the celebration of this occasion until after the end of the days of mourning and the Iranian people’s feelings of grief, considering this a duty towards a Muslim country that reveres our people and our country and shares the concerns and pains of the Nation of Islam and its fighters in Palestine, provided that next Sunday is the date for the official celebration of the anniversary of the National Unity of Yemen instead of tomorrow.
