A Zionist official confirmed that the recent ground invasion of the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, did not change the positions of the head of tl Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, but rather made him adhere to his conditions for concluding any prisoner exchange deal.

Colonel in the enemy army reserve, Michal Melistein, stressed that Sinwar did not change his positions, and the recent military operations in Rafah did not affect him, explaining that “there are two crucial matters for him. The first is the issue of the return of the people of the northern Gaza Strip, and the second is Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.”

Milstein continued in his interview with the Hebrew Channel 12: “Sinwar did not absent himself after the invasion of Rafah, and he remained committed to the central goal, which is survival, and saying that Hamas stood firm after the end of the war.”

Channel 12 quoted former Aman chief Aharon Zeevi Farkas as saying: “No final goal has been determined for this war eight months after its outbreak, and the army cannot work without knowing its final goal.”

He added, “All of these things lead Israel to this deterioration in the system of comprehensive relations, including political and military,” and said: “We are at a critical point in this regard, because of what is happening around us, and also because of what is happening vis-à-vis Hezbollah, which has influence” How we end the war.”
