Today, Thursday, demonstrators supporting the Palestinian cause rose to the roof of the Australian Parliament in the capital, Canberra, to denounce the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, according to Reuters news agency.

Demonstrators lowered banners from the top of the Parliament building reading: “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be liberated.”

One of the demonstrators said from the top of the building over loudspeakers that “Israel” is committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, adding: “We will not forget, we will not forgive, and we will continue to resist.”

On May 11, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong announced that her country supports the Palestinian effort to obtain full membership in the United Nations, which means recognition of a Palestinian state, which is part of building “the driving force to secure peace” in the aggression that “Israel” is waging on the Gaza Strip.

For its part, the Jewish Council of Australia renewed its calls earlier on the Australian government to use all possible diplomatic pressure to stop “Israel” from committing the crime of genocide in Gaza.
