The United Nations confirmed, yesterday, Thursday, that there is no evidence of the presence of members of Hamas movement in the school affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip, which was bombed by the Israeli enemy army on Wednesday.
This came from UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric in response to a question about what Secretary-General Antonio Guterres can do to prevent the killing of more UN employees.
Dujarric said in press statements: “We are trying to achieve a balance between protecting our employees and providing the assistance that the people of Gaza need to a very great extent.”
He added that the United Nations is communicating with the highest officials of the enemy entity and will continue to do so
.
Regarding Israel’s allegations that UNRWA employees killed in the attack were “members of Hamas,” Dujarric said: “This is an UNRWA school used as a shelter. If it was being used with malicious intent, we would have known. There is no evidence for that.”
