Martyrs and wounded in Zionist aggression on Damascus

The Syrian capital, Damascus, was subjected to a missile attack targeting a residential building in Mezzeh area.

The raids hit two floors resulting in varying injuries who were transferred to surrounding hospitals according to what Al-Mayadeen correspondent reported.

She pointed out that the targeted area is a civilian and residential area par excellence, and includes several residential towers and is located near a popular market.

In turn, the Syrian Ministry of Defense announced an air attack with three missiles from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting a residential and commercial building in Mezzeh neighborhood, which is densely populated in Damascus.

The statement added that the attack resulted in the martyrdom of seven civilians, including children and women, and the injury of eleven others as a preliminary toll.

It also caused significant material damage to private property in the surrounding area, and work is still ongoing to rescue others from under the rubble.

For its part, the Iranian embassy in Damascus condemned the recent Israeli aggression, and stressed that the occupation “recorded a crime once again through a cowardly missile attack on a civilian building in the heart of Damascus, which led to the martyrdom of innocent children and women.”

The embassy also denied in a statement it published the circulating news that the raid targeted an Iranian figure, stressing that “there are no Iranian citizens among the martyrs and wounded.”

Syria has recently witnessed, in light of the ongoing barbaric Israeli war in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, Israeli raids and targeting, the most recent of which was a week ago in the heart of the capital, Damascus.
