200 Children killed in Israeli aggression on Lebanon in two months

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said that more than 200 children were killed in Lebanon in two months as a result of the Israeli aggression on the country.
This came in a press conference held by UNICEF spokesman James Elder yesterday, Tuesday, at the United Nations office in Geneva, in which he denounced the world’s habit of accepting to witness this tragedy like its predecessor in the Gaza Strip.
Elder stated that no steps have been taken to stop this massacre, and that there is a silent normalization towards the horror taking place in Lebanon.
He said: “More than 3 children have been killed on average daily in Lebanon during the past two months, and a larger number of children have been injured and psychologically traumatized.”
He continued: “We hope that humanity will not witness the ongoing massacre against children in the Gaza Strip again, but for children in Lebanon there are horrific similarities (with their peers in Gaza).”
The UN official confirmed that there are hundreds of thousands of children left homeless in Lebanon.
He pointed out that some schools that opened early this month have closed their doors due to the increase in attacks in Lebanon, stressing that these attacks have had severe psychological effects on children as in Gaza.
He added: “The situation in Lebanon is the same as in Gaza, the unbearable situation is quietly turning into an acceptable situation, and once again, the cries of children are not heard and the silence of the world becomes deafening, and this new normal is horrific and unacceptable.”
