The Director of UNRWA Affairs in the occupied West Bank confirmed today, Sunday, that “the humanitarian situation in the northern West Bank has seriously deteriorated in recent weeks, prompting citizens to leave Jenin camp almost completely.”
He said in a statement: “The military escalation and the deterioration of the security situation have caused a mass displacement of families in Jenin camp, which has directly affected daily life.”
The Director of UNRWA continued: “The suspension of educational activities in UNRWA schools in the region was inevitable as a result of the military escalation, noting that this also led to the suspension of the provision of health services in the camps, due to the difficulty of accessing them under the current situation.”
It is worth noting that the Zionist enemy forces continue their aggression on the city of Jenin and its camp for the sixth consecutive day, which resulted in the martyrdom of 15 citizens, the injury and arrest of dozens, in addition to the widespread destruction of citizens’ property, public and private facilities, and infrastructure, including the water and electricity networks.
