Tulkarm Media Committee stated that the number of displaced persons from Nur Shams and Tulkarm camps as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the city and its two camps, has exceeded 24,000, with more homes and neighborhoods in the two camps being evacuated. The displaced remain in shelters and city towns.
The committee indicated in a statement on Saturday that enemy forces are continuing to evacuate residents from Tulkarm camp and have forced residents of al-Murabba’a neighborhood to evacuate their homes at gunpoint.
It reported that the forces stormed Abu al-Ful and Qaqun neighborhoods, breaking down the doors of homes, wreaking havoc, and turning them into military barracks.
Early Saturday morning, explosions rocked the area surrounding the woods in Nour Shams camp, coinciding with a heavy deployment of Israeli soldiers.
Tongues of smoke could be seen rising from the area, shattering vehicle and home windows.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces opened fire on an ambulance evacuating a patient from the camp.
The forces blew up one of the gates of Al-Nasr Mosque in Nour Shams camp, conducted searches in Al-Mahjar neighborhood amid heavy gunfire, and set fire to the home of Yasser Muqbil in the Al-Manshiya neighborhood.
According to the committee, Israeli soldiers abused a number of citizens during a raid on homes in Al-Muqata’a neighborhood in Tulkarm camp, severely beating a man and his son, and holding them for more than 12 hours before releasing them.
The enemy forces sent military reinforcements toward the city and its two camps, while increasing their heavy machinery and bulldozers in front of the buildings they seized on Nablus Street, turning them into military barracks, and around Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps. They also set up mobile checkpoints to restrict the movement of civilians.
The media committee reported that the ongoing aggression on the city and camps resulted in the deaths of 13 citizens, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant. Dozens were also injured and arrested.
