Escalation of American Aggression on Yemen Met with Unprecedented Popular Momentum – Report

Scholar Fouad Naji: The awareness and insight of the Yemeni people are capable of thwarting the enemies’ schemes and conspiracies.
Scholar Khaled Mousa: The steadfastness of Yemenis in the public squares is much due to the Quranic project and culture.
Cultural Activist Al-Nusra: Mass gatherings in the squares provoke the enemies and hypocrites and curb their conspiracies.

Yemen continues to witness unprecedented weekly mass rallies across hundreds of public squares in support of Gaza, with crowds swelling steadily since the onset of the al-Aqsa Flood operation on October 7, 2023. These demonstrations, marked by unwavering momentum, stand as a global phenomenon unmatched in scale or consistency.

Despite mounting American and Israeli pressure aimed at deterring the Yemeni people from their faith-driven solidarity with Gaza, massive crowds take to the streets every weekend. Their presence reaffirms Yemen’s firm opposition to American and Israeli aggression and constitutes a renewed public mandate to the political and revolutionary leadership, as well as to the armed forces, to take appropriate actions in defense of Gaza.

For every American escalation that results in the killing and wounding of hundreds of civilians, the public response in the streets intensifies. This growing momentum sends a clear message: Yemen’s stance in support of Gaza will not be shaken by airstrikes. Instead, each attack strengthens the people’s resolve and deepens their commitment to confront aggression with steadfastness.

“Steadfast with Gaza… in Defiance of America and Its Crimes”

On Friday, April 25, 2025 (27 Dhu al-Hijjah 1446), millions gathered in the capital Sana’a’s al-Sabeen Square for a mass rally under the slogan “Steadfast with Gaza… in Defiance of America and Its Crimes.” This mobilization reflects the depth of Yemeni support for Gaza. It underscores what Deputy Minister of Guidance and Hajj and Umrah Affairs, Fuad Naji, describes as the Yemeni people’s unwavering stance.

In an exclusive statement to Ansar Allah Media, Naji emphasized that Yemenis gather weekly in massive demonstrations to reaffirm their principled position in support of Gaza. He highlighted their loyalty to Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badruldeen al-Houthi—may Allah protect him—and the continuous renewal of the public’s mandate to the national leadership and armed forces to pursue all necessary measures to compel the Zionist enemy to cease fire and lift the siege on Gaza, as well as to deter the American aggressor.

He stressed that the Yemeni people’s presence in the streets, even amid relentless American bombings of civilian infrastructure and residential areas, is a testament to their faith-driven and moral commitment to Gaza. Emphasizing that, Yemenis have proved—both in word and deed—their unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, offering unparalleled lessons in sacrifice and martyrdom, sanctified by their pure blood.

Naji further stated that Yemen’s weekly demonstrations serve as a powerful indictment against the Arab and Islamic nations and the global public who have remained silent in the face of Gaza’s suffering. He recalled Yemen’s historical legacy of siding with truth and justice since the dawn of Islam, asserting that just as Yemeni ancestors supported the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), today’s generation defends Islamic sanctities and stands with the oppressed, while much of the world remains inactive.

Each American escalation, Naji added, is met with increased vigor and defiance from the Yemeni people, as seen in weekly mass gatherings across the nation. The resilience and dignity displayed by families of martyrs and the wounded under American airstrikes prove, without a shadow of doubt, the clarity and awareness of the Yemeni people—an awareness capable of foiling enemy plots and thwarting their conspiracies.

Yemen Revives the Islamic Nation’s Core Mission

While much of the Arab and Islamic world remains preoccupied with non-Islamic cultural pursuits such as sports, music, and entertainment, widely followed by the majority, the Yemeni people emerge weekly in majestic public scenes that embody the true mission of the Islamic nation, refocusing attention on its fundamental causes.

Despite the success of Western and American schemes aimed at pacifying the Islamic Ummah and the subservience of many Arab and Islamic regimes to American and Israeli agendas, there remain free voices around the world committed to the Palestinian cause. These individuals not only demonstrate in solidarity with Gaza but also follow developments closely through both digital and traditional media.

These global voices describe Yemen’s position as exceptional, heroic, historic, and honorable. They applaud the Yemeni leadership and people and call upon the governments that have betrayed their citizens to emulate Yemen’s principled stance and cease their suppression of free voices supporting Gaza.

In this context, Member of Yemen’s Association of Scholars, Sayyid Khalid Musa, cited the Qur’anic verse: “To those who respond to their Lord is the best [reward], but those who do not respond to Him—if they had all that is on earth and the like thereof with it, they would [attempt to] ransom themselves thereby. For them is the worst account, and their refuge is Hell, and wretched is the resting place” (Qur’an 13:18), and “O you who have believed, respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life” (Qur’an 8:24).

Musa explained that millions of Yemenis rally weekly in support of Gaza to affirm that “we are with them and will never abandon them, no matter the challenges.” He added that these massive gatherings represent the bonds of Islamic brotherhood and religious solidarity between Yemen and Palestine and are a noble expression of Yemeni authenticity.

He attributed Yemen’s globally unique stance on Gaza is much due to the Qur’anic project and culture, which embody the nation’s faith and identity. He described the Yemeni people’s support for Palestine as a practical manifestation of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) praise for Yemen, including his saying: “Faith is Yemeni and wisdom is Yemeni. I sense the breath of the Most Merciful from Yemen.”

Musa emphasized that Yemen’s defiant popular momentum, held despite American bombings and blockades, sends critical messages to Arab states that have normalized relations with the Zionist entity: that such normalization and betrayal of Gaza will only bring divine wrath and punishment both in this world and the hereafter.

He concluded, “The massive crowds in the streets send a message to normalization states and traitors: your abandonment of Allah’s cause will not bring victory to the Zionists. Divine laws ensure replacement—Allah will bring forth a people who will uphold His cause and stand against His enemies,” referencing the verse: “And if you turn away, He will replace you with another people; then they will not be like you” (Qur’an 47:38).

Popular Mobilization in the Streets In Jihad in the Path of Allah

The mass gatherings in Yemen’s public squares are viewed as a form of jihad in the path of Allah, as they infuriate and terrify the enemies of Allah—a point repeatedly emphasized by Sayyid al-Houthi in his weekly addresses on developments in Gaza and the broader region.

Cultural activist Mohammed Saleh al-Nusrah stated that Yemenis take to the streets in obedience to Allah’s command: “And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy” (Qur’an 8:60).

According to al-Nusrah, public demonstrations serve as psychological preparation for jihad against tyrants and oppressors. Jihad requires internal willpower, which is cultivated through public mobilization and the chanting of slogans against the Zionist enemy and its crimes.

He noted that the enemies and their hypocritical allies fear these public demonstrations because they thwart and expose their conspiracies. The weekly mass gatherings refute enemy propaganda that claims Gaza’s support does not reflect the will of the Yemeni people. In contrast, the overwhelming weekly turnout proves national unity, both officially and popularly, in supporting Gaza.

Al-Nusrah concluded that the hostile media campaigns waged by American-affiliated traitors and normalization advocates, both locally and internationally, only reflect their deep frustration and hatred. This, he said, underscores the importance and profound impact of the mass rallies—and the urgent need to sustain them.

Millions gather for the march titled ‘Steadfast with Gaza… in Defiance of the Americans and Their Crimes’ at Al-Sabeen Square in the capital, Sana’a – 27 Dhul Qa’dah 1446 | 25 April 2025.

The weekly demonstrations remain a living, popular parliament that continuously renews the people’s mandate to the leadership to take appropriate action in supporting Gaza and confronting American escalation.
