The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned of the imminent collapse of the health system in the Gaza Strip, given the fuel import ban for more than 100 days, and the failure of all attempts to bring it in due to Israeli refusal.
The organization explained that only 17 of 36 hospitals are still operating, most of them partially operating, while hospital bed capacity has declined to 1,500 beds, equivalent to only 45% of its previous capacity.
It confirmed that all hospitals in northern Gaza are completely out of service, amid a severe shortage of medicines, medical equipment, and fuel.
The organization called for urgent action to bring in fuel to save what remains of the health system in the Strip.
