The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, expressed his deep concern on Tuesday about "potential attacks" on nuclear facilities, warning that they could have "immediate and long-term impacts on the environment and the health of people in Iran and the region."
In a statement posted on social media, Ghebreyesus described the Israeli aggression on Iran as "deeply worrying," noting the "large number of civilian casualties."
The Director-General of the World Health Organization called on all parties to work toward calm and peace, stressing that "the consequences of any escalation in this direction will not be limited to one party, but will extend beyond the borders of geography and conflict."
This comes after Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said that the occupation would attack "strategic, governmental, and infrastructure targets in Tehran today," claiming that "there are 10 nuclear facilities in Tehran, and we are working to destroy them."
On Monday night, US President Donald Trump stressed the "immediate evacuation of Tehran," in a post on his Truth Social account.
