Iran’s health ministry says at least 44 women and 13 children have been killed during Israel’s military aggression against Iran, carried out with US-supplied weapons.
In a post on X on Monday, the head of the Public Relations and Information Center of Iran’s Ministry of Health, Hossein Kermanpour, announced the figure, adding that two of these women were pregnant.
“Since the start of Israel’s war against our nation, 163 women have been injured, and 44 women have been martyred—two of whom were pregnant mothers who lost their lives along with their unborn children. Among the war’s martyrs are 13 children, the youngest of whom was just two months old,” he said.
“The youngest survivor of the war is a four-year-old child, currently in the ICU with 50% burns. The child’s mother, Dr. Rasouli, was an obstetrician-gynecologist, while the father and two-month-old sister were also martyred,” Kermanpour added.
At least three hospitals and six ambulances were also targeted amid the aggression, which halted on Tuesday morning after 12 days, after the regime was forced to accept the truce amid heavy losses.
The occupying entity launched waves of terrorist attacks on the capital, Tehran and several other cities in an unprovoked act of aggression overnight on June 13, which resulted in the martyrdom of hundreds of Iranians, including a number of military commanders, scientists, and ordinary civilians.
Following the Israeli aggression, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei declared in a televised message that the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces would render the vile Zionist regime helpless without showing leniency.
He also vowed that Iran would make life bitter for the Zionists through decisive action.
In retaliation, Iran launched “Operation True Promise III” on June 13, firing dozens of missiles toward the occupied territories that continued for several days.
On June 22, the United States joined the Israeli regime in the assault and bombed three Iranian nuclear sites - in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan - in a grave violation of the United Nations Charter, international law, and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Iranian Armed Forces promised to “open the gates of hell” to Israel and began waves of punitive missile and drone strikes on sensitive sites across the occupied territories.
A day later, Iran launched a wave of missiles at al-Udeid air base in Qatar — the largest American military base in West Asia in response to the “blatant military aggression by the criminal regime of the United States” against the nuclear facilities of the Islamic Republic.
In a statement on Tuesday, hours after the Israeli regime halted its aggression after 12 days as part of an agreement between Tel Aviv and Washington, Iran’s top security body lauded the country’s security forces for demonstrating “exemplary courage” in the face of Israeli hostilities.
Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) said the powerful Iranian military response as part of True Promise III forced the Israeli regime to halt its aggression unilaterally.
