Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Jamal Amer, met with the UNDP Resident Representative in Sana’a, Zeina Ali Ahmed.
During the meeting, the Minister was briefed on the projects being implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Republic of Yemen for the year 2025.
Minister Amer expressed his dissatisfaction with the drying up of many development projects and the resulting deprivation of communities from essential services they had come to rely on, due to the ongoing blockade lasting over a decade.
He emphasized the political motivations behind some donors’ decisions to halt development funding in Yemen and stressed the importance of expanding developmental projects across the entire country.
For her part, UNDP Resident Representative Zeina Ali affirmed that the program is intensifying its efforts in reaching out to donor countries and agencies to secure the necessary funding to implement development initiatives in Yemen.
