Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh says the country's Armed Forces are fully prepared to give a harsh response to any possible adventurism by the criminal Israeli regime and its Western supporters.

Nasirzadeh made the remarks in separate phone calls with his Venezuelan and Armenian counterparts, Vladimir Padrino López and Suren Papikyan, respectively, on Wednesday.

"The Iranian Armed Forces’ decisive strike against the Zionist regime’s aggression led to request for a ceasefire,” he said.

He thanked the firm stance of the Venezuelan and Armenian people and officials in condemning the Israeli regime’s acts of aggression against the Islamic Republic last month.

The Iranian defense chief said the Israeli regime carried out its acts of aggression against the country amid the negotiations between Tehran and Washington as well as the European trio of Britain, France, and Germany (E3).

The move once again showed that the US and Western parties cannot be trusted, Nasirzadeh emphasized.

The Israeli regime launched a wave of aggression on Iran’s military and civilian infrastructure on June 13 that claimed hundreds of lives, including women and children, as well as a dozen top military brass.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces, led by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), launched a powerful retaliatory campaign, Operation True Promise III, against the Israeli regime by targeting key military, intelligence, industrial, energy, and R&D facilities across the occupied territories.

The United States, which had been in talks with Tehran about its peaceful nuclear program since April, joined the war on June 22 by targeting several key nuclear sites. Iran struck a major US military base in Qatar in retaliation.

The Israeli regime was forced on June 24 to declare a unilateral halt to its aggression, which was announced on its behalf by US President Donald Trump.

The Venezuelan defense minister, for his part, said the Israeli regime and its supporters would not be able to inflict damage on Iran’s unwavering culture of resistance.

López added that the Latin American countries would stand by Iran in its battle against global arrogance.

The Armenian defense minister also denounced the Israeli regime’s killing of innocent Iranian people and military commanders.

Papikyan said there is currently no room for such actions in the world and expressed confidence that Iran will go through such a difficult situation stronger than before.
