The Telegraph published a report on the recent operations of the Yemeni naval forces in the Red Sea, highlighting the stark contradiction with statements made by US President Donald Trump last May, who announced that Sana'a had surrendered and halted its naval attacks. Meanwhile, the Yemenis continue their operations in the Red Sea using new methods.

The report explained that this week witnessed a new escalation that confirmed that Yemen remains a powerful force in the naval deterrence equation. Two commercial ships were sunk in two consecutive strikes carried out by the Yemeni naval forces, at a time when Trump was boasting that he had "forced the Houthis to retreat."

The report stated that the naval operations came to refute what the Telegraph described as the US president's "unfounded confidence." The newspaper noted that the targeting of two Greek ships—the Liberian-flagged Magic Seas and the Eternity Sea, which was targeted for two days before sinking—broke the stalemate and restored tension to one of the world's most important maritime passages.

The strikes were accompanied by the broadcast of high-quality video footage showing the ships being seized and detonated in a manner the newspaper described as "Hollywood-style." This led to a decline in shipping traffic and a significant increase in insurance costs, a further indication that the Yemeni naval force continues to exert influence in the region despite all the bombing attempts and media disinformation.
