The Hebrew newspaper Haaretz revealed today, Tuesday, that the number of soldiers who committed suicide during active service in the army has increased compared to previous years.
Yesterday, the newspaper reported the suicide of a soldier from Nahal Brigade who had fought in Gaza for more than a year at a military base in the north.
This is the third soldier who fought in the Gaza Strip and committed suicide in the past week.
The newspaper reported that at least 15 Israeli soldiers have committed suicide since the beginning of 2025 and 21 soldiers during 2024, which is alarming.
It indicated that the majority of those who committed suicide during the war were reserve soldiers on active duty.
The newspaper stated that a large percentage of the soldiers who committed suicide had experienced difficult combat incidents that significantly affected their psychological state.
