The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) stated on Sunday evening that families in the Gaza Strip are facing catastrophic starvation as a result of the ongoing Zionist war of extermination, which has continued for nearly 22 months.
In a press statement, the office said, "Children in Gaza are suffering from severe emaciation, and some are dying before food can reach them."
It pointed out that those in search of food risk their lives, with many coming under fire while trying to secure basic necessities.
OCHA stressed that unimpeded access to humanitarian aid is both a legal and moral obligation, emphasizing that starvation must never be used as a weapon of war.
Since March 2, the Zionist entity has closed all crossings into the Gaza Strip, blocking the entry of food, humanitarian aid, medical supplies, goods, and fuel, leading to a dramatic and unprecedented deterioration in humanitarian conditions.
With direct American support, the Zionist army has, since October 7, 2023, been committing a genocide in Gaza, resulting in over 195,000 martyrs and wounded, the majority of whom are children and women, in addition to more than 11,000 missing persons whose fate remains unknown.
