UN Secretary-General António Guterres stated that the “wholesale destruction of Gaza is unbearable,” adding that the Zionist entity’s gradual annexation of the West Bank is “illegal.”
Speaking at a UN conference on the two-state solution, Guterres stressed that both actions “must stop,” and emphasized that “unilateral measures that could permanently undermine the two-state solution are unacceptable.”
Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that Paris has decided to formally recognize the State of Palestine, noting that France will declare its position at the UN General Assembly this coming September.
The United States rejected Macron’s announcement. Former President Donald Trump dismissed the French position as “irrelevant and meaningless,” adding that “it will change nothing.”
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed a similar stance, calling the decision “reckless” and affirming that the United States “strongly opposes Macron’s plan to recognize a Palestinian state at the United Nations.”
With the backing of the United States and Europe, the Zionist entity has, since October 7, 2023, been committing acts of genocide and maintaining a complete blockade on the Gaza Strip. The assault has resulted in over 203,000 Palestinians killed or wounded, the vast majority of them women and children. Additionally, more than 11,000 people remain missing, and hundreds of thousands have been forcibly displaced. The aggression also extends to the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.
