The port of Umm al-Rashrash (commonly known as Eilat), located in the occupied Palestinian territories, has come to a complete standstill due to ongoing Yemeni military operations in support of Gaza. The situation has triggered a severe economic and shipping crisis at the port, prompting Zionist officials in Eilat to call on both the United States and Egypt to intervene and put an end to the disruption, according to a report published by the Hebrew-language Calcalist newspaper.
The paper added that the Eilat port remains shut down, with shipping companies refusing to cross the Red Sea en route to the terminal, while the "government" has taken no meaningful steps to address the crisis. It further noted that the Eilat Port Authority has contacted the U.S. Embassy, requesting that the Red Sea blockade be included in the Sharm El-Sheikh negotiations.
The maritime embargo imposed by the Yemeni Armed Forces on Israeli-linked navigation in both the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea has effectively disabled operations at the port of Umm al-Rashrash.
