Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Abdulwahid Abu Ras, met via video call with the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy, Hans Grundberg.
During the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister expressed the Change and Construction government’s appreciation for the envoy’s efforts to achieve peace in Yemen and affirmed the government’s support for his initiatives in this regard.
He reiterated that Sana’a extends a hand for peace, emphasizing that the time has come to resume the political settlement and implement the roadmap, including its humanitarian provisions.
For his part, the UN Special Envoy briefed the Deputy Foreign Minister on the outcomes of his recent meetings with various parties, as well as with the UN Security Council’s permanent member states.
He also highlighted the United Nations’ and international community’s commitment to achieving peace in Yemen and ending the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people.
