The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) welcomed on Saturday China’s responsible positions toward the Palestinian cause, praising its continued role in supporting the political and humanitarian rights of the Palestinian people.

In a statement, the PFLP called on the People’s Republic of China to use its global weight and presence to intensify its political, humanitarian, and developmental efforts in support of the Palestinian people as they face U.S.-backed “Israeli” aggression.

The Front said it values “the efforts made by China to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people—whether through its efforts to halt the ‘Israeli’ aggressive war against our people in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, or through its political positions supporting legitimate national rights, and its active contribution in providing humanitarian and relief assistance.”

The PFLP stressed the need to end the suffering of the Palestinian people in a way that opens a genuine horizon for lasting stability in the region, based on the priority of ending the occupation and achieving the Palestinian people’s right of return and self-determination.
