The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) confirmed on Monday that the Gaza Strip is experiencing a severe deterioration in living conditions, as the suffering of its population has intensified with the onset of the winter season.
In a post published on the X platform, UNRWA stated that “tens of thousands of displaced families in the Gaza Strip—many of whom are sheltering in tents and overcrowded schools—are facing heavy rainfall, flooding, and worsening living conditions.”
The agency emphasized that it continues its work to support Palestinians wherever they are, despite the extremely challenging humanitarian circumstances.
With American and European support, the Zionist enemy “army” has, for more than two consecutive years since 7 October 2023, committed acts of genocide, siege, and starvation in the Gaza Strip. These crimes have resulted in the martyrdom of 70,937 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom are children and women, and the injury of 171,192 others, according to figures recorded up to today. This toll remains non-final, as thousands of victims are still trapped under rubble and in the streets, beyond the reach of ambulance and rescue crews.
A ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip entered into force on 10 October of last year, following a two-year-long Zionist genocidal war. However, the Zionist enemy “army” continues to carry out daily violations of the agreement and still prevents the entry of most humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
