Two Palestinian citizens were martyred by gunfire from Zionist enemy forces on Monday, in a continued series of Zionist violations of the ceasefire agreement signed on 10 October of last year.
Gaza’s Civil Defense announced the martyrdom of a citizen after he was targeted by fire from a Zionist drone in the Yellow Line area of the Shuja’iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City.
Medical sources also reported that another citizen was martyred after being shot by enemy forces near the Shuja’iyya Court, east of Gaza City.
Meanwhile, the Zionist enemy “army” continued its artillery and aerial attacks on various areas of the Gaza Strip. Enemy warplanes launched a series of airstrikes on Rafah and the eastern areas of Khan Younis in the southern part of the Strip, coinciding with renewed demolitions of homes in several locations and an Israeli ground incursion toward Jabalia refugee camp.
In the central Gaza Strip, artillery fire from the Zionist enemy “army” targeted areas east of Al-Maghazi refugee camp, escalating tensions in the area and increasing fears among displaced residents living near the targeted sites.
These attacks come as the humanitarian suffering in the besieged Gaza Strip continues, amid a severe shortage of basic necessities and growing concerns over the collapse of buildings damaged by previous Israeli bombardment onto their inhabitants.
In a related development, Gaza’s Ministry of Health announced on Monday that the total number of Palestinian victims of the genocide launched by the Israeli entity in October 2023 and continued for two years has risen to 70,937 martyrs and 171,192 injured.
In a statistical statement, the ministry said that Gaza hospitals received 12 martyrs over the past 48 hours, including four newly killed and eight bodies recovered from under the rubble, in addition to seven injured.
The ministry further reported that the Zionist enemy “army” has killed approximately 405 Palestinians and injured 1,115 others as a result of its ceasefire violations since 10 October. It also noted that the number of Palestinians who died due to the collapse of buildings damaged by previous Israeli airstrikes has risen to 15 martyrs.
Separately, the Ministry of Health confirmed a severe deterioration in medical supplies in hospitals, with shortages reaching 52 percent in medicines and 71 percent in medical consumables.
The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, warned that more than 100,000 children and 37,000 pregnant and breastfeeding women could suffer from acute malnutrition by April 2026, stressing that efforts to combat famine in the Gaza Strip remain “extremely fragile.”
For his part, the Mayor of Khan Younis announced that the municipality was surprised by a significant reduction in fuel supplies, preventing it from clearing rubble from damaged areas. He added that assistance received from some local associations, which provide machinery, is insufficient to meet the needs, further complicating efforts to address the damage across the city.
Amid the continued escalation, the Hamas movement called on mediators to take urgent action to halt Zionist violations and to pressure the occupying entity to begin a genuine reconstruction process to save Palestinian lives.
The Zionist genocide in Gaza, which lasted for two years and ended with a ceasefire agreement that entered into force on 10 October 2025, left more than 70,000 Palestinian martyrs and over 170,000 injured, most of them children and women. The United Nations has estimated the cost of reconstruction at approximately $70 billion.
