Zionist enemy forces continued their aggression against the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin, for the second consecutive day, amid a tight closure, intensive house raids, on-site questioning of dozens of citizens, forced displacement, and the conversion of some homes into military barracks, alongside bulldozing operations targeting infrastructure.
Palestinian Wafa News Agency reported eyewitnesses stating that the Zionist enemy “raided and searched a number of homes and conducted field interrogations of dozens of citizens.”
Witnesses added that the enemy converted homes into military barracks and turned a school in the town into a barracks as well as a detention and interrogation center.
Enemy machinery bulldozed several streets after closing most side entrances with dirt barriers, preventing residents from leaving or entering, according to eyewitnesses.
The occupation also destroyed infrastructure in the town and cut electricity to multiple neighborhoods, continuing the siege and restrictions on residents.
In the same context, Ahmed Zakarna, mayor of Qabatiya in the occupied West Bank, stated on Saturday that the Zionist enemy destroyed infrastructure and cut electricity to several neighborhoods during the operation that began Friday evening.
Zakarna told Al Jazeera that the enemy had closed the town and prevented Palestinians from entering or leaving. He added that enemy forces converted a school into a military barracks and detention center, raided and searched several homes, arrested dozens of civilians, and interrogated them on-site.
