Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has condemned U.S. threats to use force against Iran, describing them as a clear violation of the United Nations Charter, which prohibits the use of force against the territorial integrity of states.
In a message addressed to foreign ministers around the world, Araghchi emphasized the shared global responsibility to denounce the United States’ unlawful conduct toward Iran. He called on all parties to issue an explicit and firm condemnation of these provocative statements, stressing that Iran will not hesitate to deliver a decisive and deterrent response to any aggression.
Araghchi stated that U.S. President Trump’s threats reflect an evident ill intent on the part of the United States, as part of the continuation of an unlawful and aggressive approach for which Washington will bear full responsibility and consequences.
The Iranian foreign minister also pointed to Trump’s official acknowledgment of his country’s direct role in the June 2025 attacks that targeted Iranian citizens, vital infrastructure, and Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities. He said these actions constitute a stark example of grave violations of international law and warrant individual criminal responsibility for the U.S. officials involved.
Additionally, Araghchi warned of the serious repercussions of remaining silent in the face of such threats and illegal actions. He asserted that fostering an environment of impunity would encourage the United States and the Zionist entity to persist in their aggressive behavior, posing a direct threat to international peace and security. He further noted that the unconditional support provided by the United States to Israel—described as the only possessor of nuclear weapons in West Asia—exposes both regional and international security to severe risks.
