Hundreds of citizens took to the streets of the Somali capital, Mogadishu, on Tuesday to protest the Zionist entity’s announcement recognizing the “Somaliland” region as an independent state.
According to media reports, protesters gathered at Mogadishu Stadium, with the participation of religious, social, and cultural figures, alongside citizens from various segments of society.
During the demonstration, religious leaders stressed the importance of upholding national unity, warning that Zionist plans pose a direct threat to the stability of the region.
Participants chanted slogans affirming Somalia’s sovereignty over all its territory and rejecting any attempts to divide the country or undermine its geographical unity.
Last Friday, the Zionist entity announced its recognition of the so-called “Republic of Somaliland” as an independent state, becoming the only entity to take such a step.
The Somaliland region has been administered as a separate entity since it declared its secession from Somalia in 1991, but it has not received international recognition, amid ongoing disputes over its legal and sovereign status.
Following the Zionist enemy's announcement, the Somali government reiterated its firm rejection of the decision, emphasizing that the country’s sovereignty and territorial unity are non-negotiable.
