The United Nations Special Rapporteur on human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, renewed on Saturday her call to take action to halt the genocide in the Gaza Strip.
Albanese said in a post on the “X” platform: “On day 823 of the genocide, let us focus on concrete measures to stop "Israel" and its partners.”
With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has, for more than two consecutive years since October 7, 2023, committed crimes of genocide, siege, and starvation in the Gaza Strip. These crimes have resulted in the killing of 71,409 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom are children and women, and the injury of 171,304 others as of today, according to a non-final toll. Thousands of victims remain trapped under the rubble and on roads, beyond the reach of ambulance and rescue crews.
A ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip entered into force on October 10 of last year, following a Zionist war of genocide that lasted for two consecutive years. However, the Zionist enemy “army” continues to carry out daily violations of the agreement.
