The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) affirmed on Saturday that weather conditions in the Gaza Strip are extremely harsh during the winter season, while humanitarian needs remain immense.

In a post on the “X” platform, the UN agency stressed the need to “allow more aid to enter so that people in Gaza can live with dignity and safety.”

UNRWA appealed to the world to help the people of Gaza, stating: “We appeal to the world to help us by providing suitable plastic tarpaulins or tents so that we can keep families in Gaza warm.”

The agency quoted a civilian resident of Gaza named Nidal as saying: “Winter has become a season of terror in Gaza, as everything has been destroyed.”

A ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip entered into force on October 10 of last year, following a Zionist war of genocide that lasted for two consecutive years. However, the Zionist enemy “army” continues to carry out daily violations of the agreement and still prevents the entry of most humanitarian aid into the enclave, particularly assistance provided by UNRWA.

The Zionist genocide in Gaza, which lasted for two years and ended with a ceasefire agreement that came into effect on October 10, 2025, resulted in more than 71,000 Palestinian martyrs and over 170,000 injured, most of them children and women. The United Nations has estimated the cost of reconstruction at approximately $70 billion.
