The Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office said that the Zionist enemy arrested more than 1,650 Palestinians from the city of Jenin in the occupied West Bank during the past year, 2025.
In a statement issued today, Saturday, the office explained that among those detained were 85 children and 16 women and girls, stressing that the Zionist enemy is pursuing a policy of systematic targeting and an unprecedented escalation against Jenin and its residents.
The office noted that nine prisoners from the city of Jenin are serving life sentences out of a total of 116 prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment. It also pointed out that there are five female prisoners from Jenin, including four held under administrative detention, out of a total of 50 Palestinian female prisoners, as well as 18 child prisoners from Jenin out of 350 Palestinian children held in the enemy’s prisons.
The office reported that nine martyrs from the city of Jenin alone have died as a result of torture and medical neglect in the enemy’s prisons. It also noted that prisoner Abduljabbar Sabri Khalil Al-Shamali is the longest-detained prisoner from Jenin in Zionist enemy prisons, having been imprisoned since 2001 and sentenced to 27 years.
The Zionist enemy is detaining more than 9,300 Palestinian prisoners, including children and women, who are subjected to torture, ill-treatment, starvation, and deprivation of health care, leading to the deaths of dozens, according to human rights and Zionist reports.
These violations come amid escalating crimes against prisoners, in parallel with the ongoing war of genocide against the Gaza Strip since October 2023, which has left more than 70,000 martyrs and 171,000 wounded, most of them children and women.
