The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, warned of the danger posed by the "continued repressive and unpatriotic approach of the Authority’s security agencies" and of the brutality faced by detainees inside prisons.
The movement explained that political arrest campaigns carried out by the Authority’s security agencies in the West Bank, particularly in Jenin, are escalating in a manner that “further fuels internal tension.”
Hamas also affirmed that these arrests “directly serve the objectives of the occupation” by targeting resistance fighters, national elites, and free voices, and by emptying the national arena.
The movement stressed that the Palestinian people will not submit to policies of silencing voices, calling for the immediate cessation of all forms of political arrest and the release of all detainees.
