Authorities in Razavi Khorasan Province announced on Saturday the martyrdom of seven security defenders following recent unrest in the city of Mashhad in northeastern Iran.

Judicial authorities in Qom Province, central Iran, reported that two police officers were killed in a stabbing attack carried out by rioters.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Tehran stated that “terrorists caused damages exceeding 3 billion tomans to city property during the first night of the riots.”

He added that fire trucks were sabotaged and set on fire during the unrest, and sanitation workers were injured.

Iranian state television released footage showing a Molotov cocktail being thrown at civilians’ homes by “Persian-speaking mercenaries affiliated with Mossad,” according to its description.

The Fars News Agency reported that Tehran experienced relative calm on Friday night, with a significant decrease in the intensity of riots after Basij forces of the Revolutionary Guard were deployed to restore security. The unrest subsided considerably compared to the previous night.

Fars correspondents recorded very limited incidents of rioting in Tehran, while the capital largely remained calm due to the presence of Basij forces alongside police units.
