A third group of Iranians deported from the United States, numbering 14 people, has returned, according to what Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported on Monday.

Tasnim indicated that this group returned to the country via Cairo and Kuwait after being subjected to pressure to leave the United States, adding that facilitating the transfer of returnees requires an unusual level of coordination between Tehran and Washington.

Officials said last September that the United States had identified around 400 Iranians to be deported.

The first flight included 120 people who returned to Tehran via the Qatari capital, Doha, while a second group of 55 people returned to Iran in December.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry accused Washington of carrying out deportations on “political grounds and in accordance with anti-immigration policies.”
