Zionist sources reported on Tuesday that a European monitoring force has arrived at the Rafah border crossing, accompanied by Palestinian staff, as part of ongoing preparations to reopen the crossing.
Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper noted that this step is intended to facilitate the operation of the crossing according to mechanisms agreed upon by the relevant parties.
According to the same sources, the agreed arrangements include the Egyptian authorities providing the Israeli authorities daily with a list of travelers passing through Rafah, which will then be submitted to the Shin Bet for security approval before allowing passage.
Walla news, citing Zionist sources, reported that the Rafah crossing is expected to open on Wednesday or Thursday in both directions.
Rafah serves as a vital lifeline for Gaza residents, particularly for humanitarian and medical cases, amid anticipation for its actual reopening under the recent understandings.
