Zionist enemy forces have continued, for the third consecutive day, to seal off the town of Hizma, northeast of occupied al-Quds, despite announcing yesterday the end of the military operation that lasted for two days.
The enemy imposed a complete siege on the town’s entrances, preventing Palestinians from entering or leaving, which disrupted students’ and workers’ access to their schools and workplaces.
Over the past two days, the town has witnessed extensive incursions, including raids on homes and commercial shops and the imposition of strict restrictions on residents’ movement. The operation resulted in the arrest of 13 Palestinians and the conduct of more than 100 field investigations and interrogations, during which a number of citizens were subjected to beating and abuse.
The forces also seized more than 35 vehicles and motorcycles, converted three homes into field interrogation centers, and turned other homes into military barracks during the incursion.
The military operation in Hizma coincided with a comprehensive campaign carried out by the Zionist enemy in the al-Quds area under the name “Capital Shield,” which included widespread demolitions of buildings and facilities.
As part of the crackdown, Zionist enemy forces on Thursday morning demolished a wooden shack and issued stop-work orders for two agricultural rooms in the town of Battir, west of Bethlehem. Occupation bulldozers also began demolishing a factory in the town of Sebastia, northwest of Nablus.
In addition, Zionist settlers on Thursday attacked the Bedouin community of Ma’azi Jaba’, northeast of al-Quds, in an attempt to seize land for the benefit of the "Adam" and "Binyamin" settlements, without confrontations being reported.
The community is home to about 200 people, including 70 children, who live in difficult conditions, lacking the minimum requirements for basic living.
Official, human rights, and UN reports indicate that more than 33 Bedouin communities have been displaced since October 7, 2023, leading to the forced displacement of 2,373 Palestinians from these areas and the establishment of 114 new settlement outposts on confiscated land, as part of the Zionist enemy’s policy to displace Palestinians and expand settlements.
