The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has called on the authorities of the Israeli enemy entity to allow the entry of its humanitarian supplies, currently stored in its warehouses in Egypt and Jordan, into the Gaza Strip in order to distribute them to those in need amid the deteriorating humanitarian conditions.

In a statement published on its X platform account on Thursday, UNRWA said that the authorities of the enemy entity have been preventing the entry of food supplies, hygiene items, medicines, and shelter materials into the Gaza Strip since March 2025, further compounding the humanitarian situation inside the enclave.

The agency affirmed that life-saving assistance is ready for immediate transport once entry is permitted, stressing that its teams continue to provide humanitarian support to the population despite the existing challenges.

In this context, UNRWA spokesperson Jonathan Fowler explained that medical evacuation operations remain extremely limited, while the volume of aid entering the Gaza Strip is far below the level required to meet the growing humanitarian needs. He noted that Gaza’s health system is facing a widespread collapse as a result of the current conditions.

For his part, Sam Rose, Acting Director of UNRWA Affairs in Gaza, said that the agency’s estimates indicate that at least 20,000 people are in urgent need of immediate medical care. He warned that delays in allowing patients to leave the Strip to receive treatment abroad increase the likelihood of death or deterioration in their health conditions.

UNRWA called for the Rafah crossing to be opened fully and on a sustained basis, with the facilitation of patient movement and the guaranteed flow of humanitarian aid, holding the international community responsible for taking urgent action to prevent further humanitarian deterioration in the Gaza Strip.
