UNRWA has reported that nearly 90 percent of all school buildings in the Gaza Strip have been damaged or destroyed during the Israeli war.

“UNRWA schools still standing have been turned into shelters,” UNRWA said in a post on its X account on Thursday.

“Children are now being taught by UNRWA teams in temporary learning spaces or through digital learning,” the agency added.

On February 5, the Israeli army demolished an UNRWA school in Jabalia using explosives, UNRWA said in another social media post.

“It was the last remaining building in a compound of six schools; eight UNRWA schools in the ‘Yellow Line’ militarized area have reportedly been demolished since January,” it added.
