The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has condemned Zionist settlers setting fire to the Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Mosque in the village of Tal, west of the city of Nablus, and spray-painting racist slogans on its walls.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Hamas Movement affirmed that this assault constitutes a systematic fascist crime and a blatant attack on places of worship and Islamic holy sites in flagrant violation of all international laws and norms that guarantee the protection of religious sites and places of worship.

Hamas called on the steadfast Palestinian people to undertake broad mobilization efforts to protect mosques and holy sites from settlers’ assaults and criminal vandalism, and to confront these repeated attacks.

The movement also urged the United Nations and all international human rights organizations to condemn this criminal fascist behavior, and to pursue those responsible, as well as the leaders of the occupation government, holding them accountable for their public incitement to commit brutal crimes against the Palestinian people and Islamic and Christian holy sites.
