The Al-Quds International Foundation has warned of a new escalation targeting al-Aqsa Mosque, stating that recent developments constitute a renewal of the Bab al-Rahma battle and an attempt to carve out the eastern courtyard and impose a new police station inside the mosque compound.
The foundation called on the masses of al-Quds and Palestine to intensify their travel to al-Aqsa Mosque, to maintain steadfast presence and seclusion (i‘tikaf) there, and to populate its eastern courtyard, in confrontation with the frenzied Zionist effort to impose Judaization realities during the month of Ramadan.
The foundation confirmed that it had documented actions by the authorities of the Zionist enemy entity, shortly before Ramadan, on the night of Tuesday and Wednesday, February 3–4, 2026, when they broke the lock of Dar al-Hadith al-Sharif, located between the Bab al-Rahma prayer hall and Bab al-Asbat on the eastern side of al-Aqsa. The site was stormed, and authorities refused to reinstall any new lock, thereby allowing unrestricted access to it. The actions also included targeting several domes and secluded prayer areas within al-Aqsa Mosque.
It explained that the assault on Dar al-Hadith al-Sharif carries serious implications, foremost among them reflecting the Zionist enemy’s intention to renew the battle over the Bab al-Rahma prayer hall and attempt to close it once again. Dar al-Hadith is adjacent to Bab al-Rahma from the northern side—a site that worshippers previously compelled to be reopened on February 22, 2019, after an attempt by occupation police to assert control over it.
The foundation further stated that targeting Dar al-Hadith, coupled with targeting the Bab al-Rahma prayer hall to the south, and the exclusive presence of Zionist intruders in the eastern courtyard—where they perform Talmudic rituals while preventing guards and worshippers from entering during incursions—places the entire eastern section of al-Aqsa Mosque at risk as a renewed target for spatial division.
It noted that repeated incursions into Dar al-Hadith al-Sharif could pave the way for converting it into an additional headquarters for the Zionist enemy’s police, alongside the Al-Khalwa al-Janbulatiyya, which the occupation seized in 1982 and turned into a police center. This, the foundation said, comes within the context of ongoing security encroachment inside al-Aqsa, where nine foot patrols have reportedly been deployed around the clock since March 13, 2024.
In light of these developments, the foundation stressed the need to intensify presence at Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan, calling on those able from among the people of Palestine to travel there, maintain steadfast presence, and observe i‘tikaf in order to affirm its Islamic identity.
It also renewed its appeal to the Arab and Islamic nations, as well as their elites and scholars, to make al-Aqsa and the protection of its identity the central focus of popular and mass mobilization, a focal point of prayer and spiritual retreat, and a core issue of awareness and attention throughout the blessed month of Ramadan.
