The mass reservist call-up, coupled with the offensive nature of the campaign and warnings of prolonged fighting, signals a shift from Israel’s usual containment strategy toward a potential multi-front military escalation.

Palestinian journalist Mohammed Youssef Shaheen told YPA that including intelligence, logistics, and air defense units in the mobilization reflects Israel’s concern over possible involvement of other regional actors, from Lebanon to theaters such as Iraq and Yemen.

With Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon intensifying and Hezbollah retaliating with rockets, the region faces a highly volatile situation. The path of this escalation will hinge on developments on the ground and decisions by regional and international players, raising fears of a broader Middle East conflict beyond Lebanon and Iran.
