The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon operating in southern Lebanon confirmed on Tuesday that it observed soldiers from the Israeli army crossing into Lebanese areas near Marjayoun, Adaisseh, Kfarkila, and Rmeish before returning south of the Blue Line.
In a statement, UNIFIL noted that Israeli forces have maintained five positions and two restricted zones inside Lebanon since the declaration of the cessation of hostilities, constituting a violation of Resolution 1701.
UNIFIL also recorded multiple incidents involving airstrikes, hundreds of instances of cross-border gunfire, and 84 aerial violations, all of which the statement described as serious breaches of Resolution 1701.
The statement came after Israel expanded its operations in Lebanon, intensifying bombardment in the south, the eastern Bekaa region, and Beirut’s southern suburbs, alongside threats targeting dozens of southern villages in an effort to compel residents to evacuate.
