Israeli occupation authorities on Friday issued military orders to seize dozens of dunums of Palestinian land in the Al-Baqi‘a Plain in the northern Jordan Valley of the West Bank.

Moataz Bisharat, the official responsible for monitoring settlement activity in Tubas Governorate, said the orders target 268 dunums of privately owned land belonging to residents of the city of Tubas and the town of Tammun.

Bisharat explained that the move follows similar decisions issued late last year to confiscate approximately 1,042 dunums of Palestinian land in the Atouf Plain, which lies within the Al-Baqi‘a area of the northern Jordan Valley.

The northern Jordan Valley is among the areas most heavily affected by land seizures and settlement expansion, with Israeli authorities frequently issuing military orders to confiscate land, designate it as a military zone, or allocate it for settlement projects.

In a related development, Israeli forces also seized 133 dunums of Palestinian land in the northern West Bank governorates of Jenin and Salfit, citing “military purposes.”

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli authorities issued three military orders targeting Palestinian land. Two orders in Jenin targeted land belonging to the town of Arraba, seizing 128.6 dunums to expand a military site east of the town, in addition to another order confiscating 3.6 dunums to build a road in the same area.

In Salfit Governorate, Israeli authorities issued an order to seize 999 square meters of land in the town of Deir Istiya to construct a “security road” south of the town of Marda, alongside the Ariel settlement.

The commission also reported that Israeli authorities issued two additional military orders to remove tree cover from 47 dunums of Palestinian land in Jenin and Salfit. One order targets 21.43 dunums east of Arraba near a military site, while the other orders the removal of tree cover from 25.74 dunums in Deir Istiya, north of the town along Wadi Qana Road in eastern Qalqilya Governorate.

According to data released by the commission, Israeli authorities issued 12 military orders during the past two weeks of the ongoing Israeli and American war against Iran to place Palestinian land under seizure under the pretext of “military and security purposes,” confiscating around 250 dunums across the West Bank.

The largest of these orders, numbered 26, targets the removal of tree cover from 380 dunums of land belonging to the villages of Silwad, Attara, and Ein Siniya north of Ramallah. Additional orders also target land in the town of Ramin in Tulkarem Governorate and the town of Huwwara in Nablus Governorate.
