Egypt on Tuesday condemned the Zionist ground incursion into southern Lebanon, describing it as a “blatant violation of Lebanese sovereignty” and a serious breach of international law and the United Nations Charter.

In an official statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Cairo’s full solidarity with Lebanon and its rejection of any infringement on its sovereignty. The statement called for the immediate withdrawal of Zionist forces from all Lebanese territories and urged full compliance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, in a manner that would enable the Lebanese state to extend its authority.

Egypt also stressed the necessity of an immediate and comprehensive halt to all Zionist military operations, including both the ground incursion and airstrikes targeting multiple areas. It warned of a worsening humanitarian crisis and the potential displacement of more civilians, while calling on the international community to intervene to de-escalate the situation.

On the other hand, the Zionist enemy’s “army” announced the deployment of the 36th Division to participate in ground operations in southern Lebanon, alongside the 91st Division, with the aim of expanding what it described as a “forward buffer zone.” This move follows preparatory artillery and aerial strikes carried out in the area.

Internationally, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom expressed deep concern yesterday over the escalating violence. They warned that any Zionist ground offensive could lead to serious humanitarian consequences and a prolonged conflict, and called for engagement in negotiations to reach a sustainable political solution.
