Zionist occupation authorities on Tuesday delivered notices to seven inhabited homes in the eastern neighborhood of the village of Qalandiya, north of occupied al-Quds, ordering their evacuation and demolition within 21 days.
The notices were issued under the pretext of unauthorized construction, despite the targeted homes having existed for decades and being fully inhabited.
Last month, the so-called “Enforcement and Execution Department” of the Zionist authorities delivered partial evacuation orders to Salah and Naeem Maragha for their homes in the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood of Silwan, south of al-Aqsa Mosque. The orders affected the threatened portions of the two homes as well as the family’s parking area, citing ownership of the land by Yemenite Jews since 1881.
On January 14, the Zionist authorities delivered notices to several residents of the neighborhood from the Rajabi and Basbous families to open files with the “Enforcement and Execution Department,” in preparation for forced eviction orders. Families are generally given no more than 21 days to comply.
These notices affected approximately 33 homes, inhabited by around 220 residents, including the home of the Yusuf Basbous family, despite their case still being pending before the Zionist so called "Supreme Court".
The escalation coincides with increased settlement activity in the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood. On January 5, 2026, settlers seized a home belonging to the Basbous family under heavy protection by Zionist forces, displacing 13 family members.
Previously, on December 14, 2025, the elderly Najah Rajabi and her two children were forced to vacate three homes for the “Atiret Kohanim” association, which began extensive renovations to house three settler families.
On November 9, 2025, Umm Zuhri Al-Shweiki, her daughter’s home, and the Jumaa Odeh family home were evacuated, after which settlers entered the buildings and raised the "Israeli" flag over them.
The claims of the “Atiret Kohanim” association are based on alleged ownership by Yemenite Jews since 1881 over an area of approximately 5 dunams and 200 square meters, putting more than 84 Palestinian families, totaling around 700 individuals, in direct confrontation with Zionist-ruled courts.
These actions are carried out under the 1970 “Legal and Administrative Matters Law,” which allows Jews to claim properties predating 1948, while depriving Palestinians of the right to reclaim their own properties.
