Five Lebanese civilians were killed and 19 others injured on Wednesday evening as a result of two airstrikes carried out by Zionsit enemy warplanes targeting the towns of Saksakiyeh and Ansariya in southern Lebanon.

A Lebanese security source said that Zionsit enemy aircraft also launched additional raids on the towns of Bdeyas, Zawtar al-Sharqiya, Kounine, and Arnoun in the south of the country.

The source added that Zionsit enemy forces carried out demolition operations in the areas of Alma al-Shaab and Tayr Harfa within the Tyre district, where explosions were heard across the city while thick clouds of black smoke rose from the targeted locations.

The strikes came despite an ongoing truce between the Zionsit entity and Hezbollah that began on April 17 for a period of ten days before being extended until May 17.

Zionsit enemy forces continue to violate the ceasefire on a daily basis through shelling operations targeting areas in southern Lebanon, resulting in deaths and injuries, in addition to carrying out widespread demolitions of homes in dozens of southern villages.
