Mohammad Mokhber, assistant to Iran’s Supreme Leader and a senior official in the Islamic Republic, stated that Iran will respond to any country whose territory is used as a base for launching attacks against it.

Mokhber emphasized that ending the regional war, securing compensation, managing the Strait of Hormuz, and lifting sanctions are critical issues that neither the Iranian people nor officials can afford to overlook.

He added that disputes between Iran and the United States would only be resolved once Washington recognizes that Tehran has reached a level of strength that prevents the U.S. administration from taking any effective action against it.

The senior official further stressed that the Iranian people will not relent until they avenge the blood of their fallen commander and those killed in the recent war.

On regional relations, Mokhber noted that the vision of Iran’s leadership and government is based on establishing positive ties with neighboring countries. However, he argued that the issue lies in the role some of these states play as operational bases for the United States.

He warned that if attacks against Iran are launched from the territory of such countries, Tehran would have no choice but to respond and confront them.

Meanwhile, a senior Iranian source told Reuters on Thursday that no agreement has yet been reached between Washington and Tehran, although gaps have narrowed. The source added that uranium enrichment and Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz remain among the main points of contention.
