A senior Iranian source told Reuters that no agreement has been reached so far between Washington and Tehran, although the gaps between the two sides have narrowed.
The source added that uranium enrichment and Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz remain among the main points of contention.
Notably, Iran’s Foreign Ministry affirmed today that the current priority is to halt the war across all fronts, while simultaneously dismissing circulating reports regarding the nuclear file.
Yesterday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei confirmed that the exchange of messages between the Iranian and U.S. sides is ongoing, based on a 14-point Iranian proposal.
Baghaei explained that Iran’s primary focus is on “ending the war on all fronts, securing the release of frozen funds, and halting provocative actions and maritime piracy against Iranian shipping vessels.”
