A building in the northern settlement of Metulla was directly struck by a drone, Israeli media reported.
According to reports on Monday, emergency and rescue teams were dispatched to the site after the strike. Doron Kadosh, a correspondent for Israeli Army Radio, said the strike was part of a wider wave of Hezbollah drone launches targeting northern occupied Palestine.
The reports did not immediately confirm casualties or the extent of the damage, while emergency services continued to assess the situation on the ground.
Metulla's local council head, David Azoulay, called for the withdrawal of Israeli troops from southern Lebanon, saying he was “tired of hearing the phrase ‘authorization to publish’,” a reference to the material on Israeli military casualties allowed to be disclosed.
Azoulay added that "Israel" could “defend the Litani line from within Israel,” reflecting growing domestic criticism over the continued military presence inside Lebanese territory.
Israeli media also reported that two soldiers were killed the previous day in an attack involving a Hezbollah drone, with several others injured.
Launches, casualties rise simultaneously
According to the reports, more than 30 explosive drones were launched toward Israeli forces and northern settlements in a single day, described by Israeli media as one of the most intense days in Lebanon since the ceasefire.
Hezbollah has continued to announce operations targeting Israeli forces and military vehicles in southern Lebanon, using rockets and explosive drones.
The group says its operations are a response to ongoing Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement announced in April.
