The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement strongly condemning the military strike launched by the U.S. military in the early hours of Saturday, which targeted radar and coastal surveillance installations in the Sirik region and on Qeshm Island. The ministry emphasized that these installations are tasked with protecting the security of the country's borders and ensuring the safety of navigation in international waterways.

The ministry stated that the assault constitutes a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement and represents military aggression against the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic. It further noted that the hostile and provocative behavior of the United States reflects a complete disregard for the fundamental principles of international law and the United Nations Charter.

According to the statement, the Iranian Armed Forces responded with full readiness and determination within the framework of their inherent right to self-defense, delivering a proportionate and effective response to the attack. The ministry maintained that the response successfully thwarted the objectives of the assault and prevented the hostile, malicious plans of the aggression from being achieved.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry declared that repeated violations of the ceasefire by the United States prove once again that Washington poses a grave threat to regional security through its reckless actions. The statement held the U.S. government fully responsible for all consequences and ramifications of these illegal actions, as well as for any potential escalation of tensions.

Reaffirming Iran's inherent and legitimate right to self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, the ministry stressed that the Islamic Republic will defend its sovereignty, security, and national interests using all its capabilities.

Furthermore, the ministry called on neighboring countries in the region to adhere to the principle of good-neighborly relations and to refuse to allow their territories or facilities to be used for planning or executing acts of aggression against Iran. It also urged the United Nations Secretary-General, the UN Security Council, and other relevant international bodies to take immediate and effective measures to halt the continuous violations of the ceasefire and illegal actions by the United States, thereby preventing the normalization of violations that threaten regional and international peace and security.
